TRENTON PAL SWEEPS 2006 NEW JERSEY PAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT Teams take home the titles in Boys U12 and U14, and Girls U14
|
March 5, 2006 (Rahway, NJ) - With Rahway PAL serving as the tournament host, 36 teams started out with the
hopes of being crowned 2006 New Jersey PAL Champions. In the end, Trenton PAL laid their claim for basketball
supremacy by walking away with all three titles being contested. Over the course of two weekends, teams from as far
north as Vernon and as far south as Atlantic City competed in some action packed games. This years tournament
was the largest to date, and it had it's share of upsets, buzzer beaters, and even a double overtime game thrown into
the mix.
Regardless of the outcome on the court, every player left a winner - wearing their Tournament T-shirt and munching
on pizza or a hot dog, all provided by NJ PAL. A special thanks to Rahway PAL and Det./Sgt. Gene DeCarlo for
stepping up and serving as the host city again this year. The opportunity to play games in a first-rate facility is always
an added bonus, and all who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves. With the growth of the tournament, we may
need multiple sites for 2007. Any PAL interested in hosting future basketball tournaments should contact NJ PAL for
hosting guidelines. A big thank you to all PAL's that participated, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2007.
